The good welfare of animals benefits humans

Thanks to "The Newvision" Newspaper for running this article on animal welfare. The background is that a few weeks ago some two young men staged a protest at the Parliament of Uganda. The media served us to some details of what transpired. They used two piglets to help them send their message home. They painted the piglets yellow, tagged them with labels written on "MPigs", transported them to the parliamentary parking grounds and attempted to walk them into the building. A security officer stopped them and a melee ensued. Whatever message was coded in the "yellow piglets" I do not know. My concern is about the acts of cruelty meted out to the piglets. This is my opinion: The welfare of animals benefits humans.
